Jenn Shaw Studio Owner/Director

 

Jenn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and also a Masters in Accounting.  She resides in Big Lake where she lives with her husband and five children, three of which were or are currently still dancers at Starz.  She is also the proud owner of Elmerz Restaurant and Event Center in Sauk Centre. Jenn recently retired from being a daycare provider for the past 11 years.  She took over ownership of Starz in 2015 where she has implemented some new changes to ensure not only the studio continues to grows but that her students also prosper in their dance careers.

 

Jody Lechner-Roepke  Asst. Director/Competition Instructor
  Jody is a graduate of St. Cloud Technical College where she earned her A.A.S. Degree in Paramedicine. She has worked for North Memorial Health as a Paramedic since 2008.  She is also back in school pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree.  She started dancing at St. Cloud School of Dance at the young age of three and went on to compete.  She has been an instructor at Starz since 2001 where she  developed & started the Hip Hop Dance Program.  In 2015 she became the Assistant Director of Starz. She has received many Outstanding Choreography Awards at Competitions around the state.  In 2017 her competition group was named Regional Champions in Tap for “The Train.”  She has attended many workshops and taken master classes with world renowned choreographers.  Her favorite genre’ of dance is Tap with Hip Hop following close behind. She resides in Becker where she lives with her husband, two daughters who dance at Starz and her two dogs. In Jody’s spare time she enjoys music concerts, traveling, sporting events and the theater.
Gretchen Moos Competition Instructor

 

 

Gretchen is a 2007 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.  She is currently back in Graduate School pursuing her Master’s in Social Work.  She has been chosen for an internship at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility where she works as a Social Worker.  She was a competition dance student at Starz since the age of five and has been teaching at Starz since 1999. She is currently teaching the competition teams. Her favorite genre’ of dance is lyrical.  Gretchen has won many awards at competitions all around the state.  In 2015 her competition group was named the Regional Champion’s for her lyrical production number “The Chain.”  She has attended many workshops and taken master classes with well renowned choreographers.  She currently resides in Big Lake where she lives with her Yorkie named Oscar. Gretchen loves all things that sparkle, her dog Oscar, shopping and of course shoes.

Kaitlin Kolbinger Competition & Recreational Instructor
 

Kaitlin graduated from Winona State with a Bachelors in Communication Studies and Psychology.  She is currently back in Graduate School for her Masters of Science to emphasize on school counseling.  Her background involves being a competition dancer herself at Starz Dance Studio.  She is beginning her third season as a dance teacher at Starz with her favorite genre’ to teach being jazz.  Currently she is interning as a school counselor for Prior Lake High School and resides in Northeast Minneapolis.  With what little spare time she has left she loves to binge watch Netflix. 

Amanda Bell Competition & Recreational Instructor
  Amanda started dancing at Starz Dance Studio when she was just five years old.  She started teaching dance in 2012 with her favorite styles to teach being tap and jazz.  She has attended and performed at the American College Dance Association.  She went to college at the University of Minnesota Morris where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Spanish and Dance.  She was also in charge of running the Pom Squad and Dance Ensemble at Morris. Amanda currently resides in Coon Rapids and works at Spring Lake Park School District as a second grade teacher. She is also back in Graduate school pursuing her Masters in Education in Learning Design and Technology.  In her spare time she enjoys athletic fitness, Netflix and buying candles.
 Kia Kolbinger Competition & Recreational Instructor
  Kia is a former dance student of Starz Dance Studio. She started dancing at the age of three.  She became an instructor at Starz in 2011 with her favorite genre’ to teach being tap.  Kia is a college graduate from the University of Minnesota Morris.  She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a Minor in Sports Management and Dance.  While in college Kia was a choreographer and captain of the Dance Ensemble.  She was nominated and took a piece of her award winning choreography to the College American Dance Association. Kia has participated in the musical “The Golden Boys” where she was the Choreographer's Assistant.  She has also had the pleasure of interviewing Kaleena Miller, star of Rhythmic Circus.  She currently resides in Coon Rapids and works at Park Dental as the Scheduling Manager.  In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors as well as spending time with friends and family. 
 Kaite Suckert  Recreational Instructor
 

Kaite was a former student at Starz Dance Studio.  She started dancing at the young age of four.  She went on to compete on one of their top competitive groups. She became an Instructor at Starz in 2014 working with the younger recreational groups.  Since then she has a developed a passion for training young new ballerinas and developed her own beginners program. Thus making her favorite genre’ to teach ballet.  Kaite currently works as the Manager of Red Lobster in St. Cloud.  She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and her Mini Holland Lop “Sir Hops A lot.”

 Allie Revier  Recreational Instructor
 

Allie has her Accreditation in Child Development and works full-time at Kinder Care in Brooklyn Center.  Her dance education comes from Starz Dance Studio where she danced for many years.  She has also traveled to New York where she took master classes and was a part of the Spirit of America Dance Team in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  She has been an instructor at Starz since 2015 and her favorite genre’ to teach is tap. She resides in Buffalo where she lives with her boyfriend.  In her spare time she loves to be outdoors whether it is traveling, camping, boating or hunting. 

 Bridget Buchholz  Competition & Recreational Instructor
  Bridget is a 2017 graduate of Becker High School.  She started dancing at the age of twelve years old at Starz Dance Studio. She graduated from their top competitive line.  She has worked as an Assistant Dance Instructor at Starz since 2015.  In 2017 she became an Instructor at Starz.  She works with both competition and recreational groups.  Her favorite genre’ to teach is Hip Hop or Lyrical.  Bridget is currently a college student at St. Cloud State University. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and a Minor in Marketing.  She is hoping to get a job working in the music industry doing promotions and marketing.  She resides in Becker where she lives with her parents.  In her spare time Bridget enjoys to travel and go to music concerts.

Kristen is a senior at Big Lake High School and started dancing at the age of four. She is currently on the top competitive group at Starz. In 2014 she became an Assistant Dance Teacher at Starz. Her favorite genre’ of dance is Tap.  She also works at Elmerz Restaurant in Sauk Centre.  Her future plan consists of attending the University of Minnesota Morris where she plans on furthering her education as well as her dance career.  Kristen’s hobbies include reading and of course dancing. 

 Ali Schultz Assistant Teacher
  Ali is a senior at Monticello High School.  She started dancing at the age of four.  She is currently on one of the top competitive groups at Starz. She became an Assistant Dance Teacher in 2016.  Ali’s favorite styles of dance are Hip Hop, Jazz and Lyrical.  She also works at the Monticello Community Center in childcare. Her future plans consist of attending the University of Minnesota Moorhead. She wants to major in Criminal Justice and Psychology to become a Criminal Psychologist. Her hobbies include reading, hunting and of course dancing. 
Makenna Fendrich   Assistant Teacher
  Makenna attends Big Lake High School and started dancing at the young age of two. She is currently on the top competitive group at Starz Dance Studio competing in many different styles of dance.  Makenna became an Assistant  Dance Teacher in 2017 at Starz.
